Past Meals

A selection of meals from the past few weeks.

A delicious Chocolate Chilli Cupcake and Coffee with visual glee on the table at Carousels, Cupcakes and Coffee in Chermside.

Cupcakes and a variation of our very own Anzacs, these had lots of cinnamon, nuts and dried fruits including cranberries. Grandie #2 loved them.......Grandie #1 was more of the sprinkles on the cupcake fan.

A bit of diet naughtiness, steak with mushroom and onion glaze, Salad and Baked Potato with..........wait for it..........yummy, golden butter oozing over the lovely fluffy potato.

A dish of roast vegetables,"Gusto" style from the restaurant's own cook book.

A butterflied leg of lamb, marinated in Tandoori spices and then roasted. seemed to go down well, no complaints.

The following dishes were from Campos in Brisbane, delicious food, quirky venu, and definitely worth a re-visit with lovely friendly staff.

Firstly a bagel, grilled haloumi cheese and pumpkin relish. Yummo

Then there was the breakfast fry up, just the thing for a recovering open heart surgery patient

Campos version of the BLT. the leanest bacon I have ever encountered, clear and clean flavour.

And the friendly and accomodating lass on the next table had the Frangellico French Toast with poached fruits. Bliss she claimed and I believe her.

The lamb cutlets were marinated in chopped oregano leaves, crushed fresh garlic and lemon juice, browned in a hot pan and then popped into the oven (210C) for 5 mins. Carrots were drizzled with a little honey and then steamed, steamed asparagus and beans, steamed chat potatoes, rolled in a hot pan with a half and half mix of olive oil and butter with sliced basil leaves.

Fillet Mignon, wrapped in proscuitto and served on a bed of rocket with a simple tomato pan sauce, Salad and "Gusto" style potato wedges.

A Cheats Meal........well you gotta have something up your sleeve.......The local food market has wonderful Roast Chickens, people come from miles around for them, so when I really don't want to cook, this is one of my bail out meals, a layered Chicken Salad with a dressing courtesy of Mr. Paul Newman, just take some of his Caesar Salad dressing that you have previously poured most of the oil from - use the oil to make great turkish bread croutons - add some whole egg mayonnaise and thin with a little milk, shake in a jar and pour over.
